Halloween Treats

We decorated cookies for Halloween.  It was fun to see how creative everyone got.  Then we had some candy, it was a great day!

October Van Ride

The van ride today was extra exciting.  We went through some neighborhoods in Orem and saw Halloween decorations.  Then we saw both of the Provo temples.  We stopped some people walking and had them bring their cute dog into the bus, everyone loved that!  Then we went to Provo bakery for some doughnuts.  It was a great time for everyone!

Halloween Artists

The residents love when we water color.  We did some clipart that was related to Halloween so that was even more fun!

Here are the final paintings:

Article About Beehive Homes

Here is an article written by Recreate in Utah about Beehive Homes:

The Assisted Living Buzz with Beehive Homes

When you think of using an assisted living facility for a loved one, you may have questions about whether the community would be a good fit, especially if the person you love suffers from dementia or any other memory diminishing ailment.
The type of attention and care that memory care patients need is unique, and Randy Cottle, the owner of Beehive Homes in Orem and Provo took that into consideration when planning his newest assisted living home in Provo.
Beehive Homes: Where They Treat Everyone Like Family
The new 24-bed facility near the Provo Airport is slated to open in January 2016.  It will be fully equipped to take care of even the most advanced dementia and Alzheimer’s patients, as well as those who are just starting to show signs of memory loss.
You will never have to worry about the safety of your loved one, since the facility is completely secure. Not only do you have caring and attentive onsite staff to attend to the needs of the residents while they are inside the facility, but outdoor activities space is also furnished with security measures to keep wandering residents safe and sound.
At Beehive Homes, each staff member aims to treat each resident like family, and each caregiver that will come into contact with your loved one has the special skillset necessary to recognize the needs of each individual resident and deliver high quality care with a smile on their face.
Considering an Assisted Living Facility? Let Beehive Homes Help
To be a full-time caregiver for a loved one can be a demanding job, and there may come a time when you feel that you need outside help from professionals who are familiar with the needs of our aging population.
You may have feelings of guilt, or you may have even made promises to your family member that you would never admit them to an assisted living facility, but if your parent, spouse or other loved one is starting to wander more, or is unable to manage activities of daily living on their own, it may be the time to think about using an assisted living facility to help provide the care they need.
Signs Your Loved One Could Benefit from an Assisted Living Environment
It can be hard to admit that your loved one may need more help than you can give them.  The following signs may mean that your elderly loved one needs specialized care that only a qualified assisted living facility can provide.

Has issues with balance and is having more falls in their home
Has frequent medical emergencies that require 911 to be called
Has difficulty remembering to take medications at the appropriate times
Needs more help with their activities of daily living, such as dressing themselves, bathing, and preparing meals
Needs to be monitored closely due to wandering off

Why Choose Beehive Homes of Orem and Provo?
Randy and Alaine Cottle and their experienced staff at Beehive Homes know that taking care of an elderly loved one can be a lot to handle, and you can trust that your loved one will be taken care of by professional, courteous caregivers who have a special gift for being empathetic to the needs of patients of all care levels.

In Remembrance

We let some balloons into the air in remembrance of a resident who passed away.  Some family members, staff, friends, and residents were able to participate and it was a great experience.  We will always remember this amazing woman.
